Mission & Vision

MissionStatement: Advancing the health of all Utahans through innovation and cultivating excellence in nursing leadership through education, mentoring, leadership development, and professional development.

UONL serves its members through:

  1. Leadership cultivation - by providing opportunities for education and skill development, leadership mentoring, network with other nurse leaders, alliance with American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), access to resources, and leadership opportunities.

  2. Advocacy and Health Policy engagement - by partnering with other nurses and health care organizations, and through up- to-date information about legislative issues, patient advocacy efforts, public relations, and newsletters and other media communication.

  3. Workforce development - by fostering collaboration between practice nurse leaders and academic nurse leaders for nursing education, participating in gathering workforce data and projecting future needs, and advancing the profession of nursing.
